Anchorage's draft 2008 Legislative Priorities were introduced to the Anchorage Assembly tonight. On Friday, December 14 a work session will be held 12:00p-2:00p at City Hall to discuss this first draft. You are welcome to attend.

The final version of the 2008 Legislative Program is out. Copies are being delivered to Anchorage Legislators and State officials this week.

$2M PLEDGED FOR SALMON LEARNING CENTER - $500,000 MATCH NEEDED
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game recently pledged $2 million of their federal funding towards construction of the Ship Creek Salmon Learning Center. These funds require the Municipality of Anchorage to provide a minimum 25% non-federal match.

KINCAID FIELDS PROJECT ADDED
At the Mayor’s request, the Assembly endorsed the proposed Kincaid Project Group improvements to Kincaid Park. With the same resolution (AR 2008-36), it amended the 2008 Legislative Program to incorporate this project. While included in the 2007 Legislative Program and recommended by the Parks and Recreation Commission, it was inadvertently omitted from the original 2008 list.
