Investigating Complaints of Discrimination

Anyone who works for, or receives public services from the Municipality of Anchorage has the right to file a complaint of discrimination with the Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO). This includes Municipal employees and applicants for employment, contractor or subcontractor employees and applicants, and members of the public. Complaints of discrimination must be filed within thirty (30) calendar days of the date the incident occurred, and the Office of Equal Opportunity will make every effort to resolve a complaint within thirty (30) calendar days from the date the complaint is filed. To file a complaint of discrimination with the Office of Equal Opportunity, call 343-4897.

In addition to investigating internal complaints filed with OEO, the Office of Equal Opportunity also coordinates the investigation of complaints against the Municipality of Anchorage filed with any of the three (3) equal rights agencies that serve the people of Anchorage. These three agencies are:
