Services Offered by the Family Assistance Center
The Family Assistance Center (FAC) is composed of prescribed functions and services provided to military families by the military as a policy and regulatory requirement. It is staffed by military members, civilian workers, and volunteers. It is primarily a resource and referral service. The FAC supports the family of the Guardsmen, which includes the extended family - parents, siblings, other relatives and significant others. Our primary services include the following:

Resource and Referral

Crisis Counseling Assistance: referral and coordination for crisis counseling is provided through Joint Forces Headquarters and the chaplains, and/or appropriate state and local human agencies.

TRICARE and Military Benefits Information: counseling and assistance in forms completion and claims submission. The FAC will provide information on TRICARE, including dental and mental health.

Emergency Financial Assistance: counseling and assistance in loan/grants submittal through Air Force Aid, Army Emergency Relief, American Red Cross, and through state and local human service agencies.

Legal Information and ESGR: information and assistance is coordinated through the Staff Judge Advocate or available legal service agencies. Information will be provided pertaining to preparation of wills, powers of attorney, and appropriate counseling on the provisions of the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Relief Act. Also included are referrals or requests for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).

Mobilization and Deployment Training: this process includes information and training on the preparation, sustainment, and reunion phases.

Various Other Training: The FAC offers training; including Army Family Team Building, FRG Management, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, Trained Crisis Responder, Money Management, Military One Source, etc.
