Anchorage First Lady Deborah Bonito hosts an Armed Services Day
at the Dimond Center, May 19th, providing a day of crafts for kids, military
technology demonstrations, great food and musical entertainment.  Besides enjoying
a full day of fun, military families received free passes to activities all around town,
from bowling and ice skating to museums and the Alaska Zoo. 

Smiles abounded as our communitiy said thank you to our military families.

 


Anchorage First Lady Deborah Bonito joins volunteers at the Cookie Decorating Station at the Dimond Center.


Among other crafts, military children created hand-made cards for their deployed family members.


Catherine Curtis helps children make their own princess hats.

 

 

 


A ChangePoint volunteer helps a young girl decorate cookies donated by Twigg's Catering.


Military dads take a moment to pose with their children.


Young visitors put together their own animal masks, donated by the Anchorage Downtown Partnership.

 


A mom takes her son around to some of the many activity booths.


Volunteers helped kids decorate their cards with a wide variety of stamps.


Outside, the Mexican dancers entertained the crowd with traditional music and colorful costumes.

And military kids enjoyed technological demonstrations from the Air Force.
