Military & Family Support Initiative

When the call goes out to our military men and women, they respond.  Increasingly, since 9-11, the call will take them to a location thousands of miles from home and place them in harm's way.  Their families are faced with being alone and having to make many adjustments during these difficult times.  Knowing that they are part of a community that cares, a community that understands their situation, and a community that wants to help, can make this time a little easier.

The military family support agencies of each branch of the armed forces do a great job assisting the soldiers’ families, but traditional resources are being stretched beyond capacity.  Your support will make a difference to our military families.

My father served in Vietnam when I was young.   When I think of the military spouses and children of today, exposed 24/7 to the real-time images of the action their loved-ones are facing, my heart goes out to them.  I know yours does too.  I know you want to do whatever it takes to help ease their burden and to make sure our soldiers have the resources they need when they come home.  Just as it is not easy to bear the emotional and financial strains of having your loved one away and in harms way, it is not easy to leave the horror of war behind when a soldier returns.

Please use this web-site as a tool to donate your time, talent and funds to the agencies that are working so hard to support those left behind and to ease the transition back to home as our soldiers return.

Please consider making a cash donation through the Armed Services YMCA. It is tax deductible, and it will be going directly to support our military families.

Thank You,
