Description of Major Duties
The Municipality of Anchorage is looking for a college student that is willing to learn about office administration with an opportunity to become familiar with legal work and criminal law procedures within city government. This is a volunteer internship that will introduce the applicant to the many aspects of city government while working in the Criminal Law Department. The duties for this internship will include proof reading, document organization, and some document analysis. The intern will also be working with attorneys from the start of a case to its finish and all phases between, in addition to post conviction matters. Assignments ma include contacting witnesses and other investigatory duties.
Length of Internship
Determined by intern supervisor after interview.
Selection Criteria
1. Ability to communicate on a professional level each day.
2. Have strong analytical and writing skills.
3. Must be committed to working one to two hours after school.
4. Ability to work in a team environment.
5. Have basic knowledge of MS Office.
6. Basic typing skills.
7. Ability to work independently.
8. Punctuality and reliability when work schedule contract is signed.
9. Ability to adhere to confidentiality agreement.

Eligibility
Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA and currently enrolled as a college student.
