Information Technology Volunteer Internship

Description of Major Duties

The Municipality of Anchorage is looking for a high school junior or senior that is willing to learn about information technology within city government.  This is a volunteer internship that will introduce the applicant to the many aspects of city government while working in the Office of Information Technology.  The duties for this internship will include critical documentation for the long term maintenance and operation of computer systems.  This internship would meet a need in the Municipality of Anchorage for documentation and provide valuable training in what various computer systems look like.

Length of Internship

Determined by intern supervisor after interview.

Selection Criteria

1. Ability to communicate on a professional level each day.
2. Good writing skills.
3. Have basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Internet Explorer.
4. General computer knowledge.

Eligibility

Applicants must have at least a 2.0 GPA and currently enrolled as a high school junior or senior.
