Mayor's Office Volunteer Internship

Description of Major Duties
The Municipality of Anchorage is looking for a college student that is interested in a volunteer internship that will introduce the applicant to the many aspects of city government while working in the Mayor’s office. The duties for this internship will include assisting with cataloging and assessing the Municipality of Anchorage volunteer programs, creating a data base, attending meetings when possible, drafting forms and fliers to market special projects/events, drafting communication to the participants of the survey and to the Municipal Volunteer Corps., and organizing and taking notes at events.
Length of Internship
Determined by intern supervisor after interview.
Selection Criteria

Ability to work with diverse groups

Ability to communicate on a professional level.

Must be committed to working a minimum of one to two hours each day during the work week (must meet the required 120 hours of work during the semester).

Ability to work in a team environment

Have basic knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel.

Basic typing skills.

Familiar with conducting internet research.

Ability to work independently.

Punctuality and reliability when work schedule contract is signed.

Ability to adhere to confidentiality agreement if applicable.

Eligibility
Applicants must have at least a 2.0 GPA and currently enrolled as a full-time university student.
