44th Army Band Concert to Benefit Alaska Wounded Warriors Foundation August 13, Wednesday 7 p.m.   In tribute to Alaska’s wounded warriors from Iraq and Afghanistan, the 44th Army Band of New Mexico will perform at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13.    The FREE concert will present an opportunity for the community to support the wounded warriors of the 4th Brigade Combat Team Airborne 25th Infantry Division at Ft. Richardson. Contributions will also be accepted in support of Operation Denali 2009 – a mission of four wounded warriors to successfully summit Mt. McKinley as a tribute to fellow wounded warriors.    The 44th Army Band’s mission is to provide music as morale support for troops and increase community support of the military.   This concert is brought to you by the Anchorage First Lady Military and Family Support Initiative, the Alaska Armed Services YMCA and the University of Alaska Anchorage.
