Wood Lots 

All wood lots are closed for the season.

  • For all sites:
    Residential use only
    Brush & tree parts only
    No land clearing debris
    No stumps or construction materials
    Loads must be covered and tied down

The Girdwood Wood Lot will open on Saturday, May 10, 2008. It will be open through August 30 on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The site is located at the Industrial Park on Ruane Road (en route to the transfer station). Please secure your load. You must sign in with the attendant. Maximum size of material: 6 ft in length, 8 inches in diameter.

The Eagle River Wood Lot, at the Anchorage Regional Landfill, will open on May 16, 2008. It will be open Fridays and Saturdays through August 30, 2008 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please follow all Solid Waste Services guidelines for covering and securing loads. Also, when bringing woody material to ARL, you must deliver this load separately from any trash, otherwise SWS will charge you per ton. You must sign in with the attendant. Maximum length is 6 feet, no diameter limit.

We anticipate that the Anchorage wood lot will open in May. Dates and operating hours will be posted soon.This site is operated by the Anchorage Soil & Water Conservation District at www.aswcd.org or 677-7645.
