Street Sweeping

The first and second sweeps of 2015 are complete, in accordance with the Alaska Pollution Discharge Elimination System (APDES) clean water permit.  The APDES permit requires all Municipal and State owned roads with in the Municipality of Anchorage to be swept a total of three times per year.

The third and final sweep will run from September 1st through October 15th, 2015, beginning on the South end of town and working north.

The beginning point and direction of street sweeping on residential roads is rotated from year to year.  In 2015, sweeping will begin in the North end of Anchorage moving in a southerly direction.

Once residential sweeping begins, you may go on line by clicking here to access the street sweeping maps and track the progress of residential sweeping.  Please understand there may be some deviation in the sweeping pattern on trash days.  NOTE:  This map will NOT show updates until we are working in residential areas and each sector is complete.
