Since April 2016, People Mover has been listening to your transit priorities through Anchorage Talks Transit. We heard you loud and clear, and you can read more about the results of the Anchorage Talks Transit visioning process in the Final Report.
The next step of the Anchorage Talks Transit process is translating your transit priorities from the visioning process into a redesign of our bus system. We took your feedback from the visioning process and developed two system redesign concepts for further discussion:

Service would continue one hour later each weekday evening. On Sundays, service would run three hours longer than in the Existing Network
On weekends, all routes shown in red or blue at right would come every 30 minutes, which is twice the frequency of any weekend route in the Existing Network. Those shown in green would come hourly
The very low ridership rush-hour-only service to Eagle River and Chugiak is no long offered. Eagle River Connect still remains.
Fewer residents and jobs are within ¼ mile walk of some service than in the Existing Network. However, for the first time, a large number of Anchorage residents and jobs would be within walking distance of frequent transit (a bus arriving every 15 min).
