Anchorage Metropolitan Area Transportation Solutions (AMATS)

This web site is your source for information about the work of the Anchorage Metropolitan Area Transportation Solutions (AMATS) and transportation planning within the Municipality of Anchorage.  This is the place to find out about upcoming and past meetings, transportation plans and studies, and the ongoing effort to keep people and freight moving around Anchorage.  Your input is essential to making a transportation system that serves our citizens and their community.  Keep an eye out for our public PI participation opportunity icon - our way of showing you when, where and how you can comment on AMATS activities.

Freight Survey -

The Freight Advisory Committee (FAC) is seeking input from freight experts, such as truck drivers, bus drivers, taxi drivers, freight companies, and other agencies to help identify problem areas and intersections that affect efficient freight movement in the Anchorage region. These survey results will help the FAC to prioritize these intersections and recommend freight improvement needs, such as added lanes, increased turning radius, and improved signal timing. With the help of the freight industry and stakeholders, it is the FAC’s hope to further fund and allocate resources for freight mobility in the Anchorage area. Thank you for your participation. Click here to take the survey.
