How Can We Help You?

Administration

The Administration Division of the Municipal Traffic Department is responsible for performing many essential tasks which we could not do without, such as office reception, adminstrative projects, personnel, finance, and important budget issues.  These employees are the unsung heroes of the Traffic Department and we are thankful for their dedication and contributions to the department.

The Adopt-A-Road Program

Managed by the Administration Division is the very popular Adopt-A-Road program.  Developed and implemented by the Administration Division, this program allows individuals, groups, or businesses to help keep our city looking beautiful year-round by 'adopting' a specific road and keeping it clean of trash and debris.  This is a great volunteer program that everyone should participate in!

The Administration Division is responsible for the Adopt-A-Road contract renewal and maintenance, establishing roadways for adoption, heavy coordination to ensure that 3 cleanups are performed each year by the participants, serving on the Chamber of Commerce Citywide Clean Up Committee, program promotion, and assisting and attending Clean Up activities.

For more information about the Adopt-A-Road program, please contact the Traffic Department at 343-8406.

The Special Activities Permit Program

Another popular program created and maintained by the Administration Division is the Special Activities Permit program.  This one-stop permitting process is for individuals or organizations who are organizing a pre-planned activity such as a parade, race, rally, or event that is conducted in or having direct effect upon the Municipal public Right-Of-Way.

The Administration Division is responsible for reviewing permits for MOA Policy and Procedure compliance, providing and coordinating insurance requirements, facilitating the review with the Traffic Department, the Anchorage Police and Fire Departments and other effected agencies, fee collection, and final permit approval and issuance.

For more information about the Special Activities Permit program, please contact the Traffic Department at 343-8406.
