Mayor's Office Volunteer Internship

The Mayor's Office is seeking star college students with communication skills and dedication, who are willing to learn and be involved in government functions. This is a summer internship program that will introduce students to the many aspects of city government while working in the Mayor's Office. Duties for this internship will include working directly with the Mayor and his Executive Staff, and include attending public events, learning computer software programs to help with data entry, addressing constituents’ requests or comments on a daily basis at front desk or at public events or gatherings. High school students will also be considered.

Selection Criteria
- possess ability to communicate on a professional level each day;
- have strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills;
- have basic computer skills;
- be available to attend and accompany the Mayor and/or Executive Staff Members to public events;
- be willing to be assigned on any special assignment to any municipal department;
- having experience in records and archiving documents is helpful;
- possess customer service skills, to be able to note specifics of constituent's requests for information or service, to be directed
