Anchorage Designated 'Bike Friendly Community' by the League of American Bicyclists
The League of American Bicyclists designated Anchorage a "Bike Friendly Community" at the bronze level in late 2009. In addition, the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) and Green Star, Inc. received "Bike Friendly Business" designations at the gold and bronze levels in 2009. So much to live up to! Green Star can help advise businesses interested in becoming more bike friendly (Lilly 278-7859).
The League named May 17-21, 2010 "Bike to Work Week" and Friday, May 21 "Bike to Work Day". We plan to allign with this schedule. Registration will begin on Earth Day (April 22) through this site.
