Bike to Work promotes the frequency and safety of utility cycling to improve air quality, traffic congestion and personal health. And Anchorage is beautiful by bike!

Traffic Skills class, Anchorage 

August 11, 2014: Do you want to be a better, safer cylist? Traffic Skills classes are being offered within the next two weeks in Anchorage as a prerequisite to League of American Bicyclists Instructors class (LCI) which will be offered in late September. Traffic Skills must be completed and application made for the Instructors class one month in advance, please do not delay. Contact Anne Schlapia (907) 343-4715 /  or Beth Scheurman (907) 929-3939 of Alaska Injury Prevention Center about your interest and availability.

Bike to Work is also available for safe cycling classes, clinics or presentations .

The annual Bike to Work survey has closed

More than 500 participaed in the 2014 survey - thank you! Data will be analyzed and shared with Anchorage to track the advancement of local bike commuting and improve BTWD in the future. We will contact the 'successful participant' about his or her Trek commuter bike from theTrek Bicycle Store of Anchorage.  

Bike to Work Day Tee Shirts

If you've been contacted for award of shirts, please pick them up at the Department of Health and Human Services by June 10th. The 3rd floor customer service desk is open weekdays from 8:30-4:30, and is closed daily from 1:00 - 2:00 PM.
