Program Description
The Rental Rehabilitation Program assists property owners in upgrading and remodeling rental units for Anchorage's low- and moderate-income tenants. Types of assistance includes:

Major home improvements and repairs that will increase the livability and usefulness of the property;

Weatherization to make a home more comfortable and to increase energy efficiency, thereby reducing energy costs; and,

Accessibility improvement designed to improve livability for physically impaired eligible applicants.
Maximum assistance is $15,000 per rental unit. The terms are a balloon payment at the end of 15 year or due and payable upon the sale or transfer of the deed or title. Interest rate is set a 3% simple. The $15,000/unit loan maximum may be exceeded for lead-based paint activities, health and safety issues, and excess code-compliance deficiencies upon approval by the Municipality of Anchorage.
