- Accepting Commissioner applicants — The Commission is recruiting applications for new Commissioners. The application packet can be downloaded here. Questions can be referred to the Executive Director by calling 343-4342.
- Public meeting announcement — The Anchorage Equal Rights Commission's regular meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month in the Mayor's Conference Room at City Hall (632 W. Sixth Ave., Suite 830). Those requiring reasonable accommodations to attend or participate, please place your request with the Commission staff at (907) 343-4342 at least 72 hours in advance.
- April is Fair Housing Month! The Municipality and the Anchorage Equal Rights Commission join the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in celebrating the 40th Anniversary of President’s Johnson’s signing of the Federal Fair Housing Act. See Mayor Mark Begich’s proclamation declaring April 2008 “Fair Housing” month in Anchorage! The Anchorage Equal Rights Commission and the HUD both enforce fair housing anti-discrimination laws in Anchorage.
