Anchorage Equal Rights Commission's 30th Anniversary
The Anchorage Equal Rights Commission celebrated its 30th anniversary of passage of Title 5 of the Anchorage Municipal Code, the Municipality's anti-discrimination law.
A highlight of the celebration was the presentations about civil rights leaders in the United States and Alaska.
The celebration was held at the Fairview Recreation Center on Thursday, November 9, 2006.
Title 5 of the Anchorage Municipal Code prohibits discrimination in the areas of housing, employment, public accommodations, financing, education, and practices of the Municipality based on a person’s race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, marital status, physical of mental disability and retaliation.
