Trail Reports - December 2005

•Someone has driven a vehicle on the Hillside, Besh, and Gasline trails last night, after the groomer had finished. This is the second time in four days he's done this. He's coming in by driving between two bollards from the Hillside parking lot (a bollard may be missing). He's done substantial trail damage this time, and the conditions on a couple of the downhills are dangerous. We need to block off the access point, and stop this guy. I've reported this to the Parks department, and to APD.

•Last week someone on the coastal trail told me that moose are charging at Connors Bog. Connors Bog is not listed as one of the trails??? Please add.

•Someone I met on the trail said in about August when he was roller skiing, he broke both poles in a grate near the culbert at Elderberry Park. He thought the tips might still be there.

•There are some broken limbs hanging in the trees, and one tree is down, blocking 3/4 of the trail (as of a couple days ago). I have called George Kendall, and will send him a few photos.

•I am still patrolling at least a coulple of times a week in the Hillside and FNBP and Campbell Tract. In the conversion from fall to winter gear I have misplaced my green armband. How may I pick up a new one? In addition, the email address is new.
