Current News (April 15, 2008)
The Assembly adopted the new Downtown Comprehensive Plan on December 11, 2007 (AO 2007-113). The document, as amended and approved by the Assembly, is now available for purchase at the Planning Department for $14.70.
As part of the Downtown Plan process, the firm Robert Odland Consulting was retained to develop a revised Title 21 land use and development code for the central business district. Preparation of this revised Downtown code has begun, and a public review draft is expected to be released in 2008.
Project Description
The Anchorage Downtown Comprehensive Plan is an updated comprehensive development plan for Anchorage's central business district (CBD). The plan implements the goals of Anchorage 2020 while effectively guiding and encouraging future growth in the CBD. The plan also re-evaluates and revamps the land use regulatory structure for the CBD. The plan is intended to create an effective CBD planning structure designed to guide public facilities development and to attract new residential and commercial investment.
