AnchorRIDES Extends Hours of Operations in All Premium Zones

ANCHORAGE - Beginning Monday, March 5, 2018, the Municipality of Anchorage's (MOA) Public Transportation Department (PTD) is extending the hours of AnchorRIDES service in the premium service areas. AnchorRIDES provides paratransit service primarily for seniors and people with disabilities. The premium service areas include Premium Zones 1, 2, and Eagle River (maps below).

Weekday service will be extended from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM and weekend service will be extended from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The new hours are listed below:

Premium Service Area (Zones 1, 2, & Eagle River)  Earliest Pick-Up  Latest Drop-Off 
Monday - Friday  7:00 AM  11:00 PM 
Saturday & Sunday  9:00 AM  7:00 PM 

This will allow seniors and people with disabilities located in the premium service areas more transportation options later in the evenings to get to/from work or medical services. AnchorRIDES is typically used by those who are unable to use the People Mover bus system; extending the hours allow for greater mobility options.

About AnchorRIDES

AnchorRIDES is a shared ride service that provides trips from origins to destinations by advanced reservations. Eligible riders include people with disabilities prevented from using People Mover routes, senior citizens (60+), and Medicaid recipients authorized for NEMT or HCB Waiver trips. The core service area covers up to 3/4 mile from People Mover routes. The premium service areas cover most outlying areas in Anchorage and Eagle River. People Mover Travel Training is offered free of charge to individuals and groups.
