Arrivals and Departures

Riders should be available to board the vehicle  during a 30 minute pick-up window which starts 15 minutes before a scheduled pick up time until 15 minutes after a scheduled pick up time. The vehicle may arrive any time within that 30-minute window and will be considered within its on-time schedule.

Example:
You schedule a 7:00 a.m. trip. The driver may pick you up any time between 6:45 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. After arriving at your pick-up location, the driver will wait for a rider for five minutes and will leave after five minutes. The passenger will be charged with a no show if they do not board within five minutes. In the example, the passenger would be charged with a no show if the bus arrived at 6:45 a.m. and the passenger does not board by 6:50 a.m. Please request a copy of the AnchorRIDES official policy on no-shows for detailed information. If the vehicle arrives early, the five-minute wait time will not begin until 15 minutes before the scheduled trip time. If the vehicle is more than 15 minutes late, the dispatcher will try to notify riders. If not notified and the vehicle is late, riders should call the dispatcher and ask about the delay. The scheduler should be able to approximate an arrival time for the vehicle.

Apartments and Building Complexes

To help avoid confusion, when scheduling your trip, please provide specific information on the building name and number within the complex as well as which entry you will be using.  AnchorRIDES has designated standard pick-up and drop-off sites at most major destinations such as large medical centers and malls.  If you schedule a trip to one of these destinations, you will be informed of the specific pick-up and drop-off location.

If your destination is located within a gated community and requires special entry, notify the security office to arrange entry for the paratransit vehicle before pick-up time.  If entry has not been arranged, and the vehicle is unable to enter the pick-up area, a No-Show will be assessed.

Nursing Homes and Adult Program/Day Care Centers

Riders with pick-ups at these facilities should meet the driver in front of the main lobby.  Drivers are not permitted to leave site of their vehicle or go inside to rooms to pick up riders.  Facility staff should be ready to assist the individual in and out of the nursing home, or facility if necessary.
