Subject: Two Men Shot at Jewel Lake Area Party
Case Number: 13-46001
Two men were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot at a Jewel Lake residence.
This morning, shortly after 2:30 AM, Anchorage Police were called to a residence near the 3700 block of W. 80th Avenue for reports of multiple gunshots heard in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men, both in their early 30’s, had each been struck once in the leg. Both victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses report the victims had been at a large residence party; at one point multiple shots were fired. Several subjects then left the residence before police arrived.
An officer had already been to the residence earlier that morning, around 12:30 AM, to issue a Disorderly Conduct warning after APD Dispatch had received complaints of excessive noise and loud music.
At this time no one is in custody and no charges have been filed as officers continue to investigate the incident.
Note: A criminal charge is merely an accusation of criminal wrongdoing. All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty by a court of law.
