Subject:  Stabbing in Spenard
Case Number:  14-3012

Anchorage Police have arrested a man, charging him with multiple counts of assault following a house party that turned into a physical altercation last night.

On January 20, 2014, at about 8:20 PM, Anchorage Police responded to the 3500 block of Dorbrandt Street in response to a 911 call about a stabbing.  Earlier that evening, a group of people had gathered at the apartment and began drinking.  At some point the apartment’s resident, Jonathan Knight, 28, asked the party goers to leave.  Afterwards, Knight got into a fight with his girlfriend and assaulted her.  The woman fled the apartment with an 8 year-old boy and sought refuge with neighbors (who had been at the party).  After learning of the assault on the woman, two men went to Knight’s apartment to confront him.  During the confrontation, Knight stabbed one of the men in the abdomen.  That man was transported to a local hospital for treatment of what appears to be a non life-threatening stab wound.

Jonathan Knight was taken into custody and charged with Assault 1 and Assault 2.  He was remanded to the Anchorage Jail.
