Subject: Shooting Outside VFW Leaves One Man Injured
Case Number: 14-7699

One man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition following a shooting outside the VFW post on Oklahoma Street.

On February 23, 2014, around 02:45 AM Anchorage Police received a call to the VFW post located at 101 Oklahoma Street reporting a man had been shot.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male adult had been struck multiple times in the arms and torso.

Early witness reports indicated that a disturbance erupted between two groups of people just outside the business; at one point several shots were fired by one side of the altercation, striking the victim. The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.

The victim was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.

This incident is subject to further investigation; no further details are available at this time.
