Subject:  Public Tips Help Officers Locate Man Charged in Fatal DUI Accident

Case Number:  13-30039

Thanks to tips provided by the public on the whereabouts of Andre Clinton, APD was able take Clinton into custody this morning and transport him to the Anchorage Jail for booking.

On Nov. 6, 2013 a grand jury indicted 29-year-old Andre Clinton on one count of Murder in the second degree, one count of Manslaughter and one count of Assault in the third degree. An arrest warrant had been issued for Clinton, however, Police were unable to locate him at his reported residence. With the help of tips provided by the public, police were able to locate Clinton and take him into custody this morning.

The charges stem from a fatal accident that occurred on July 12, 2013. Police believe Clinton was driving an SUV impaired when the vehicle lost control on Commercial Drive, rolling over multiple times. Clinton and one of the passengers, 32-year-old Marcia Mausali, were ejected from the vehicle. Mausali and Clinton were transported to a nearby hospital where Mausali was pronounced dead. The front seat passenger, 36-year-old Diana Mausali, was wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries in the accident.
