Subject: Update on Pedestrian Fatality; Police Seek Vehicle of Interest
Anchorage Police are asking the public and local businesses for help in locating a vehicle of interest in regards to the hit and run fatality that occurred early yesterday morning, on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. The vehicle of interest is described as a light colored, full-sized, pick-up truck. The truck did not appear to have a canopy on the bed.
Police are asking local businesses South of Old Seward and Dowling with surveillance to look through their footage between the hours of 2:30 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. for a vehicle matching this description. For businesses with surveillance located North of Old Seward and Dowling, please look through the footage for a vehicle matching this description between the timeframe of 2:45 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. If a vehicle is seen on the footage matching this description please contact Anchorage Police immediately at 907-786-8900. On Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 2:53 a.m. Anchorage Police Dispatch received a report from a passerby of a male lying in the middle of the road on the Old Seward Highway near 69th Avenue. When officers and medics arrived on scene they discovered a deceased male in the roadway of the northbound lane on Old Seward who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. The male was identified as 36-year-old Corbin Grassman of Anchorage. Next-of-kin was notified.
