Case Number: 13-45863
A 38-year-old man is in critical condition after being severely assaulted during a large “bar-break” melee in downtown Anchorage.
At 3:15 AM APD Dispatch received multiple 911 calls relating to a fight in a public parking lot outside the Gaslight Lounge. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious man suffering from serious injuries to his head and body. The man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The man’s wife was also transported to a hospital, and is undergoing treatment for non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the incident.
The assault occurred in the parking lot behind the Gaslight Lounge amidst several other disturbances following bar closing. The suspects had fled the scene prior to APD’s arrival.
The Crime Scene Team was called and the investigation is on-going, as detectives continue to interview witnesses and review any available video surveillance from the surrounding businesses.
APD asks that anyone with information relating to this incident call Dispatch at 786-8900 or, to remain anonymous, call Anchorage Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP.
This incident coincides with another large disturbance requiring APD response outside the Anchor Pub.
