Original Release:

Anchorage Police have arrested a man after he severely assaulted a hotel security guard, leaving him with multiple facial fractures.

On Thursday, February 27, 2014, at about 8:30 PM, Anchorage Police received a call from a woman who stated her boyfriend, Hunter Hedrick, 24, had just assaulted her and left her residence on San Roberto Avenue on foot.  After interviewing the victim, officers obtained a felony assault warrant for Hedrick’s arrest.

Shortly after midnight (Friday, February 28), Hedrick showed up at the Springhill Suites Hotel, located at 4050 University Lake Drive and attempted to get a room.  Hedrick became irate with the hotel clerk and began shouting obscenities.  Hotel security officer Jeffrey Palm, 55, approached Hedrick and asked him to calm down.  Hedrick responded by punching Palm in the face, knocking him to the ground.  Hedrick then continued to punch Palm repeatedly until a second employee intervened.  That second employee sustained a broken arm during the assault.  (the name of the second employee was unknown at the time of this release).

Hedrick was located by police a short time later and arrested on multiple assault charges.  He was taken to the Anchorage Jail where he is being held without bail.

Jeffrey Palm remains hospitalized at this time.
