Incident Update on  Jan. 7, 2014 at 10:16 p.m.

The stabbing suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Rudy Thomas Jr. He has been charged with one count of Assault in the second degree and seven counts of Assault in the third degree.

Subject: Police investigate stabbing in downtown Anchorage
Case: 14-992

Anchorage police are investigating a stabbing which took place this evening in downtown Anchorage. APD Dispatch received a call just before 9:00 p.m. reporting a male who was brandishing a knife outside near the Westmark Hotel and threatening several citizens with it. Police were able to locate the suspect on the 400 block of G Street and take him into custody. Police discovered a male victim with a stab wound to the head. He was being looked at by medics and appears at this time to have non-life threatening injuries. Official charges have not been made at this time but are expected.
