Subject: Child Hit By Vehicle After Running Into Traffic
Case: 14-00381

At 3:54 p.m. APD Dispatch received a call reporting a vehicle which had struck a child on Mountain View Road near Price Street. Police and medics responded, and a 13-year-old boy was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It was reported to police that a Dodge Ram Pick Up was traveling eastbound on Mountain View Dr. with a green light, when the young boy jumped out into traffic near Price Street and was struck by the truck. The driver was not cited in the accident and alcohol does not appear to be a factor. APD would like to remind pedestrians and youth to always utilize crosswalks and obey traffic signals.
