APD Increases DUI Enforcement for Halloween Weekend

Starting today, overtime officers will be added to APD’s regular patrols for increased impaired, aggressive, and dangerous driving enforcement. These additional patrols are funded through the Alaska Highway Safety Office and end on Tuesday, October 31st.

“We are again happy to partner with the State to provide an extra layer of DUI and traffic enforcement,” said Anchorage Police Chief Justin Doll. “The Anchorage Police Department is committed to ensuring everyone makes it home safe this holiday weekend.”

A majority of fatal crashes and collisions during Halloween weekend involved impaired drivers. If you drink, don’t drive. Make a plan to have a designated driver, taxi or ride-share.
