Subject: APD Follow Up of Concerned Citizen’s Report Finds Juvenile to Be Safe
At 7:30 a.m. APD received a report by a citizen. In the report, the citizen stated that approximately an hour earlier they had observed a female juvenile running down the sidewalk, screaming in the area of 3433 Commercial Drive and that an adult male was running behind her screaming as well. APD officers followed up on the report and found surveillance in the area that showed an adult male and juvenile female running through the area. Detectives and the mobile command unit were called out to the scene at 11:30 a.m. to determine if the female juvenile was safe and whether or not any criminal activity had occurred.
Just after 2:00 p.m. APD was able to locate the female juvenile. Our investigation determined that the female juvenile and her father were walking to the school bus stop. The female juvenile was running late, and both she and her father started running toward the bus, yelling to try to get the bus to stop. At this time, APD believes no criminal activity occurred in this reported incident. APD appreciates the citizen making the report and encourages all residents to report suspicious activity they observe in the community.
