APD Click it or Ticket Enforcement Nets Over 2000 Citations

ANCHORAGE - The Anchorage Police Department recently issued 2,092 traffic citations using Click it or Ticket overtime funds. Citations ranged from speeding tickets, failure to wear a seatbelt and running red lights.

“Click it or Ticket funds allow the Anchorage Police Department to enhance our typical enforcement to keep Anchorage roads safe,” said Chief Justin Doll. “We hope these citations serve as a reminder to drivers that officers are out on the roads and will be enforcing traffic laws.”

Grant funds totaling over $91,000 from our partners at the Alaska Highway Safety Office allowed APD officers to conduct over 940 hours of traffic enforcement.

APD also has a full time traffic unit and impaired driving unit.

As residents head out this weekend, APD wants to remind drivers to always practice safe driving rules such as obeying speed limits, traffic signs and traffic lights, wearing seatbelts and never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
