On 2-17-10, at 2055 hours, Anchorage Police Officers responded to the report of an assault in Town Square at 544 West 5th Avenue.  As officers arrived, they learned that 3 males had attacked an adult male, Robert Estes, and had taken his wallet and his shoes.  Witnesses told police that the victim had been stomped repeatedly in the head and been punched repeatedly by the suspects.  Estes was taken to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.

At 2128 hours, as officers combed the downtown area looking for the suspects, Sgt. Paiz observed a fight in progress at the Bus Accommodation Center between 3 adult males and an older male.  APD Officers intervened and took the 3 males into custody.  Witnesses identified the 3 males as the suspects responsible for the attack in Town Square. Anchorage residents Terrel Brewer, a 26 year old, Nicholas Kozorra, a 20 year old, and Brian Morissette, a 20 year old, were arrested and charged with Robbery 1st degree and Assault 2nd degree with other possible charges pending.  Their bails were set at $100,000, $50,000 and $50,000 respectively with each requiring a Court approved 3rd party custodian for release.  They are scheduled to be arraigned on 2-18-10 after 1430 hours in Anchorage Jail Court.

Note: A criminal charge is merely an accusation of criminal wrongdoing.  All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty by a court of law.
