On 2-9-2010, a male who describes himself as homeless, Alfonzo Cano, was walking in the area of Thompson Street and Hoyt Street in Mt. View at about 2000 hours. A light colored Suburban pulled up next to him and occupants offered him a ride to the Red Apple Market. The vehicle was occupied by 3 Asian males and 3 Asian females. Cano got into the back seat of the vehicle and the driver stopped after going about one block. Cano was then pulled from the vehicle, punched and hit by the occupants who then stole his leather jacket, his shoes and all the cash he had. He was left jacketless and shoeless on the side of the road as the suspects drove off westbound.
Cano was intoxicated during the attack but was able to summon police immediately. No suspects were located in the area and members of the public with information about this robbery should call Anchorage Police at 786-8900 or CrimeStoppers at 561-STOP.
