1) The Seattle Police Department has sent two members from their Detective Bureau to Anchorage to assist Anchorage Police detectives in their investigation of the shooting of APD Officer Jason Allen. Both SPD detectives played pivotal roles in the investigation of the ambush murder of Seattle Police Officer Timothy Brenton and the shooting of Officer Britt Sweeney the night of October 31, 2009.
2) Please publicize the number for the dedicated tipline to be used by members of the public to supply leads:
786-8860
This line is to be used ONLY for tips or leads not for information or to communicate well-wishes to Ofc. Allen. This is especially important with yesterday’s announcement by the Anchorage Police Department Employees Association reward of $10,000 which has been offered for information and assistance which leads to the arrest and prosecution of suspects in this crime.
