Update on APD Officer Injured in Ambush

1) The APD investigators are now being complimented with assistance from Alaska State Troopers, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Seattle Police Department as well as other agencies. This will broaden the base of our investigative efforts and bring additional resources and expertise to bear on the investigation.
2) The investigation has not revealed a clear motive for this ambush attack on Ofc. Allen however, the public is encouraged to contribute tips about anyone who may have voiced a hatred of police or judicial officials or made threats to harm those officials in the last few days or weeks.
3) The suspects were definitely out on the streets at 2:00 A.M. on 1-9-10 (early hours of Saturday morning). This should give some guidance to individuals with leads on possible suspects.
4) The vehicle used by the suspects was a dark sedan, believed to be an early ‘90s model but the exact model has not been confirmed.
5) The Anchorage Police Department Employees Association will have information about a reward which will be offered for information and assistance which leads to the arrest and prosecution of suspects in this crime. This information will be announced by APDEA President Derek Hseih at the Association Office located at 500 West International Airport Road at 1500 hours (3:00 PM) on 1-11-10.
