Learn to Use APD's Public Crime Mapping System
The online crime mapping system is a great way to know about reported crime in your area. Whether you are involved in your community council, a neighborhood watch group or Nextdoor, Community Crime Map allows you to see what kinds of crimes are occurring in your community.
- The first training session will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the APD Training Center located at 3760 West Dimond Boulevard.
- The second training session will be held at the Federation of Community Councils Meeting on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 6 p.m. at 1057 W. Fireweed Lane.
- The third training session will be held on Saturday, December 10th from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Eagle River High School.
Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop, tablet or phone device and will be able to access Wi-Fi to actively learn how to use the online crime mapping system.

APD Hosting Fall Youth Academy
The Anchorage Police is hosting a Fall Youth Academy scheduled in late October. The 20-hour course is for high school juniors and seniors and provides them with an in-depth perspective on how law enforcement serves their community. APD plans on hosting a Spring Youth Academy. Stay tuned for more details!

The Anchorage Police Department and the Alaska Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force are pleased to announce an incredible new tool to its staff – a four-legged, food and pet lover that plans to combat crime with his nose!
