Park Amenities

Reservations

Reservations can be made for Lidia Selkregg (formerly Russian Jack Springs) Chalet, Kincaid Outdoor Center, the 32 picnic shelters that are available in our parks, athletic fields, outdoor ice hockey rinks, a variety of other locations for special events and concessions by using the Facility Permit Request/Letter of Intent. For requests that include alcohol, an Alcohol Waiver must be submitted as well. A park/shelter/facility is not considered reserved until payment is received. Please note that when you reserve park use, you are reserving a portion of that park. Parks are still open to the general public. When you hold a permit for a shelter, you have sole use of that shelter. User must have permit available on site. A park/shelter/facility is not considered reserved until payment is received.

Playgrounds

Athletic & Sports Fields

• Reservations can be made for an athletic facility using the Facility Permit Request/Letter of Intent. Parks & Recreation schedules these facilities in a joint allocation process with the Anchorage School District.
• Requests are considered in a review process by committee that looks at a history of past use, the size of the organization, and partnerships.
• Reservations can be made for any length of time. Practice time is scheduled for 1 ½ hour blocks of time on fields and 1 hour increments for hockey.
• Timeline for Summer fields: Jan 1 - March 1 Submittal period.

Concessions

Selling goods and services on park land requires the seller to obtain a vendor's permit through Parks & Recreation. Copies of business license, health permits and insurance certificates may be required along with the completed Facility Permit Request/Letter of Intent to the main office. The cost of the concession permit is $50 plus 15% of the total gross to be reported on a monthly basis. Contact Parks & Recreation for information, 343-4564.

Your event may need to have a permit for park land use. Contact Parks & Recreation at one of the district offices listed below for information or fax in the completed Facility Permit Request/Letter of Intent.
