Gems 2000 Replacement:

FleetFocus M5, the system replacing Gems 2000, represents an exciting leap forward in technology and promises to be easier support. The Muni will be adding RFID technology for tracking fuel usage for people Mover’s busses.

Replacing the Muni’s aging fleet management system, Gems 2000, is a priority because it is very old (originally installed in 1993 and last upgraded in 2000)(, is expensive to maintain, and will likely fail soon.

FleetFocus M5 will be used to manage approximately 1200 vehicles and all of People Mover’s busses.
