Peter Raiskums, Director

After retiring from a career in the United States Air Force, Air Force Audit Agency, Peter came to the Municipality of Anchorage in July 1984 as a Senior Auditor with the Internal Audit Department. In 1985, Peter was appointed as the Internal Auditor (Director of Internal Audit) for the Municipality.

Peter holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Pepperdine University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the Oklahoma State University. In addition, Peter maintains the certifications of Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).

Peter is an active member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Government Finance Officers Association, National Association of Local Government Auditors, and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Peter also serves as Chairman for the Municipal 401(k) Retirement Committee and serves on the Board of Directors for Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union.
