 MUNICIPAL PROPERTIES CONTAMINATED SITES INFORMATION

The Real Estate Department manages almost all municipally owned land, including parcels in the Heritage Land Bank inventory.  Some parcels now owned by the Municipality have a history that includes contamination or other forms of illegal dumping on them.  This web page addresses those activities and provides links to more information on the MOA's cleanup activities.

PEACOCK CLEANERS: V.O.C. CLEANUP PROJECT

In 2008, the Municipality received an EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grant to support the hazardous substances ("VOC" - volatile organic compounds) cleanup of the former site of Peacock Cleaners located at 4501 Lake Otis Parkway.  This project is ongoing.

Project files for this brownfields site are available for review at the Real Estate Department offices located at the Permit & Development Center, 4700 Elmore Road, 2nd floor, in Anchorage, Alaska, and online through links below.
