Arbor Day is a national tree planting program that began in 1872.  The date varies depending upon the states latitude and in Alaska Arbor Day this year is Tuesday May 21. By planting trees in memory of loved ones who have died you can honor them while caring about the environment.  A vibrant beautiful tree benefits everyone in this and future generations and is perhaps the most fitting memorial of all.  It can inspire energy, faith, devotion and courage and carry forward the name of those memorialized in a living vital way that grows grander with the years.  If you're interested in donating a tree or shrub, please contact the cemetery director's office for more information.
