Emergency Management

The Municipality Of Anchorage is experiencing localized flooding from both recent precipitation and melting snow pack. The Municipality Of Anchorage Office of Emergency Management, Maintenance and Operations, Anchorage Fire Department, Anchorage Police Department, and Alaska Red Cross are currently monitoring the conditions.  Personnel from these agencies are working together to stay abreast of the situation and have plans in place if conditions worsen.  The National Weather Service is predicting scattered, light showers over the next 6 hours, and this minimal precipitation is not projected to worsen the flooding situation.

Please be watchful for maintenance crews and follow all road detour instructions. Municipality Of Anchorage Street Maintenance and Operations crews have been working around the clock to open culverts and minimize flooding.

Please do not attempt to cross standing water. If you are stranded in deep water, please call 911. Many areas throughout Anchorage have standing water on the roadways, so drive with caution
