WS --  Watershed District

The WS district is intended to preserve and protect the potable water reserves available to the municipality in the Chugach range.  The major responsibility in the management of watershed areas is the control of factors that may contaminate or pollute the water.  Agricultural, residential, commercial, industrial, or other urban land uses are incompatible with the concept of watershed conservation.  See AMC 21.04.070.I for more information.
