Smart Growth America Workshop 

The Smart Growth America Workshop was held in Anchorage on May 10, 2016.  It was facilitated by Christopher Zimmerman, Smart Growth’s Vice President for Economic Development, and Alex Hutchinson, Smart Growth’s Economic Development Specialist. 

Several meaningful recommendations resulted from it to kick-start new development in Downtown Anchorage.   The primary recommendation resulted in the identification of the project -  “A Few Good Blocks,” which is a new development underway in a public/private partnership between the Municipality of Anchorage and Cook Inlet Housing Authority at 7^th Avenue and I Street.
