WHAT IS THE ANCHORAGE VISION ZERO ACTION PLAN?

Vision Zero is a strategy to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries while increasing safe, healthy, and equitable transportation for everyone.

The Anchorage Vision Zero Action Plan is a three-year guiding document detailing the Municipality of Anchorage's commitment and approach to eliminating deaths and serious injuries on our roadways. For Vision Zero to succeed, we need everyone's help. Actions and responsibilities fall on the designers of the roads, public health professionals, policy makers, law enforcement and you!  We all have the responsibility to make the right choices.

What can you do?

  • Slow down and stop for red lights.
  • Pay attention to the road, don't drive distracted.
  • No matter if you are walking, biking or driving, obey the rules of the road.
  • Drugs, alcohol and roads don't mix.  Drive sober.
  • Walk and bike more.
