ANCHORAGE—Today the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) launched StartHereAnchorage.org, a website aimed at improving the job search process in Anchorage. This website was developed through grant funding by Code for America (CfA) Fellows, Adrienne Dreyfus and Clorama Dorvallis. CfA worked in collaboration with the AK Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Anchorage Community Land Trust, Partners for Re-entry, the Anchorage Municipal Library, Anchorage Economic Development Council, Anchorage Innovation Team (i-team) and other partners.

StartHereAnchorage.org offers job seekers an easy-to-use interface where users can click through options to find resources and create custom lists of information helpful for an employment search. The launch of this website is the culmination of a 9-month intensive project that involved user-testing strategies and iterative development.

Anchorage’s i-team is focused on improving economic opportunities for people in Mountain View, Muldoon and Spenard through workforce development, providing access to services and reducing the cost of living. CfA’s website helps with workforce development.
